Fish Fossils in Wyoming Shale Large Specimen Plate

This large shale plate has 4 Knightia fossils, an unusual fish that lived during the Eocene period, 34-56 million years ago. These fish were found only around the Green River region in southwestern Wyoming. The shale has been cleaned off the fossils in a very careful process which can take hundreds of hours. This large fossil plate is one of a kind.  The plate is 17.25 x 15 x .088 inches and the largest fish fossil is approximately 5 inches long. Stand is not included.
